I myself have a PSP and ran into the same problem. But luckily for you my friend I have the answer. What you need to do is go and download:

It is completely free and converts all media for PSP. Not only that you can put batch jobs, like a bunch of your favorite episodes and it will convert and upload them to your PSP.

To convert DVD's to MPEG your best bet is to use gordianknot. What you want to do is convert the DVD to AVI format (pretty simple, follow the tutorial) and then use PSP to convert it to MPEG and transfer it to your PSP.

Go to http://www.doom9.org/ and download the necessary packs and software (usually comes in one setup file) and install. You are ready to roll after that =)
