Trish has a spectacular aura about
Is a special education teacher allowed to teach a regular ed class at the same

time as resource class? Can a special education teacher teach a regular education class while also providing services for special education student who requires extra assistance on an as needed basis according to the IEP. The reason for the special ed services is to provide more individualized and intense instruction when it is needed. I fell it interferes with the teaching and learning of the special education student if the teacher is also teaching a regular English class at the same time. WHat do you think and how would you address this issue with the school?
The school has it set up so that theresource room and regular education room are combined into one large room with a small partial divider. Idon't think these are proper accomodations for many reasons and one of which are because of distractions to the special ed student by students of the reg ed class. This special ed student has behavior problems stemming from ADHD and ODD.
