Of those without diplomas, almost 80 percent learn little or no English.That will be a drag on the economy and US living standards, according to Landgraf, who said the US needs to take action to reform the education system, immigration policy and the economy.This is the future of this nation unless something is done to stop the erosion of our educational system.The uncontrolled unprecedented millions of illegal aliens must be stopped.We must reach out to all legal immigrants with schooling .We must have mandatory classes in English to help the new and old legal immigrant advance in literacy levels. We also must demand that all children be educated,punish parents that don't make their children attend school.Disruptive behavior in class should not cultimate in being expelled.The disruptive child should be made to go to school on Saturday as well as during the week.Make them attend school don't kick them out.We MUST educate every one in America.

All I know is that my old elementary school posts demographics on it's web site. Over half immigrant. Over half hispanic. Under half English literate. There are other stats, but you get the idea. English literacy and literacy go hand in hand, since English is our language. If the trend continues to promote bilingual schools without a budget, to leave the borders open with no filter etc, to not declare English our official language, and to continue to allow people to immigrate BEFORE learning English, this will continue to affect literacy in this country and all that goes with it. This isn't racist or against anyone's language or culture and insisting that the host adapts to the newcomers is racist and is bad for everyone including the immigrant.FOR PROS...if you want your people to do well, they need to come legally, learn English, and try to get along with people. That is the answer to this problem.

Racism is a mental disease. Anyone spreading hate and racism is not a real American. Racists are the dregs of humanity and shame this once mighty nation. Today racists shot and murdered Mexicans at random. They shot them because they live on the other side of a river. Any one who supports this is sickening this nation and needs to take their diseased souls and get the hell out. There ARE decent Americans who will crush this sickening "cause" of racism.
