Getting a Drivers License?

do you have to take drivers education to get a drivers license or can you just take the road test at the age of 18 in the state of new york?

A driver's education course should not be a requirement. However, it will lower the cost of your car insurance and is still an excellent idea.

You should be able to take the test once you turn 18. To find out for sure, go to http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm to get the list of laws for driver's education.Also, contact your insurance company to find out whether or not having driver's ed training will decrease your monthly dues.
