What to Major in for an apsiring ASL Teacher?

I desire to be an American Sign Language (ASL) teacher in public schools. I'm already fluent in ASL. I wish to teach in Missouri but I was unsuccessful in finding a college in Missouri which offers an ASL degree for education. I want to teach at the secondary level (high school). I want to attend the Rochester Institution of Technology (RIT) or Brigham Young University-Idaho (BYUI).The only problem is that I can't seem to find a major that would work. Most ASL programs are for interpreters not for ASL Educators. Those that do apply for ASL Educators are those aimed at teaching deaf/hard of hearing students in a deaf school. I want to teach in a public school, with hearing students who would otherwise have no access to the deaf world. So what's the major of choice that I need called? Which colleges offer this? What, if any, tests do I need to take beforehand to ensure my ASL fluency? And what, if any, tests do I need to take beforehand?I looked over the Boston University Deaf Studies program, they have the key interest in teaching aspiring teachers of the deaf, not the hearing. But thank you, you made me look at a place I didn't consider at first.

I know some University's have a Deaf Studies Program (for instance, Boston University). You might be interested in that.

Check out Utah State University. They have a "deaf education" program.this is a dual degree, deaf education/elementary education program. they actually teach classes such as "teaching math in ASL", and "teaching reading to deaf students".It is the best deaf education program I know of.It is a program geared FOR deaf educators.
