| Husband keeping children's important documents from me?
Well, your husband is trying to be an a**hole, nothing else. There is nothing to gain by acting how he is other than to force his control over your actions. If you were trying to sell your car, I'm sure that he'd "think about" giving you the title. I'm sure it just happened to involve the children rather than something personal to you.Why don't you call the school and explain the situation? To be honest, if you give the school the money and provide proof that you are trying to get the supporting documentation, I would think they would be flexible. Here is what I would do....Go directly to your State's vital records office if feasible. You should be able to get a rush on the birth certificates if not outright walk out with them. You are going to pay for this dearly (I think my state adds $25 a piece on top of a $15 certificate). If you do not walk out with them, get receipts showing you paid and that you paid to expidite them.Next, go to the nearest Social Security office and order replacement cards. You are not going to get the cards in a week (that is just the US Government for you. If it should take a hour, it will take 3 months). However, when you order the cards in person, the SSA will provide you with a printout that gives the SSN, the name of the person, and a note with the fact that the card was ordered though an SSA office. It is not a binding document (it says that right on the printout), but at least it is something. Show this to the school. As far as the kids vacination records...I'm not sure what the issue is there. Call the doctor and have them print out the chart. Even the busiest doctor's offices have done this for me in a matter or hours if I have asked to have it done quickly. Even my out of state records were just a phone call away. You might have to take a day or two off of work, but a 7/10 deadline is very doable. You should be able to provide proof the documents are ordered if not receive them by then. If the school secretary give you problems, ask for an appointment with the principal and discuss it with them. As I said, as long as you have money, a reason, and proof the documents are on the way, you should not have any issues. Get the documetns and tell your husband to go f**k himself.
