| Can any question be seen as an insult?
The definition of a question or inquiry is that it is in fact a neutrogative statement generally used to test one's knowledge, when in pursuit of an answer. No question can be seen stupid or offensive last time I remembered. As I'm quite sure that many people all over wouldn't talk one another any more just because of their differences. This would mean no more learning because you would know everything that you want to know or were allowed. Then where would we be without education?

I disagree completely! It's the connotation that the question takes on that is offensive, and offense is completely subjective. If I asked "Why do I hate f@gs so much?", the people on my fine LBGT would be completely offended, and rightly so. It's their choice. No one is bound by definitions.

Well, some questions are not just to fill your curiosity. Some may be a rhetorical question intended to be an insult. And sometimes, people just assume that the asker is making an insult. Kinda like this question.

I agree with you. But, the problem that we face in a situation like this is human emotion. People will put their emotions before logic. It happens everyday in every part of the world. We are too busy with our egos and prides to take an unbiased step back to reexamine that situation. Also, we run into another problem with the Internet.Only 7% of all communication is based on words. 38% is tone, and the remaining 55% is body language. Without the ability of tone and body language, we are left with words. And we all know how words can be twisted and distorted to go along with anyone's views.

It would be nice if all questions were asked in the pursuit of knowledge. Unfortunately, that isn't so.Many (and quite a few in this forum) are posed either rhetorically, to set up an insulting point, or are phrased with pejorative language and intended to be insulting while asking.
