| Second Job Interview - need your advice?
Speaking as a hiring Manager you would not have been called back if they were not interested. So for the second interview stay true to how you were in the first interview. The only thing I would change… ask questions. Research the company on the internet and find out exactly what they do. (let’s say they make clocks) Then say, “Before we start the next round of tests I just have a few questions. I know you are the third largest clock makers in the world (wait for response) You have a trademark on your ticky toc clocks. (wait for response) Would my position be in the ticky toc division? (wait for answer) What exactly does the job entail? (wait for answer) What is the pay scale for this position? (wait for answer). What are the office hours? (wait for answer). If they don’t want to answer questions then something is wrong with the job, low pay, long hours etc and you probably don’t want to work there anyway. If you like what you hear, take the tests. If you don’t then just be up front and let then know this position is not for you. I worry when someone does not ask questions! So don’t be afraid!Avoid: How long are lunch breaks - in other words don't ask question that make you look like you are more interested on breaks then work. Avoid: Any negative statements about previous employers or co-workersAvoid: Any negative talk or negative answers on tests/questions. Example: What was your least favorite part of your last job - Answer - I believe we all need to do what ever it takes to help a company grow. Being a positive person I don't look at least favorite things rather that I love to help customers (or type letters or what ever you like to do) Good Luck!!
