| Head Start Teachers: Tell me about your college education experience, please.?
I am wondering about the Associate Degree Program in Child Development Tech. that is required for Head Start assistant teachers. Did you find that your program at college is of good quality or did it seem more like a "diploma mill"? The schools in my area have terrible reputations. It's like the women in the classes can sleep, eat, text, make phone calls, and work as groups in the back of the room completing overdue homework. The "tests" can be taken home and returned a week later. Also, the 3 page term papers are usually full of plagarism and the sources need not be quoted for verification. It's like the schools are selling degrees to adults who are already working in daycare and preschool. These adults already feel that they know everything so they don't believe they have to accomplish anything in school. They talk among themselves while the pathetic lecturer is basically talking to herself up in the front of the class. What was your experience in college like?
