| Can I take education tax credits (Lifetime Learning) for testing fees for...
...Microsoft certification classes? I have been taking MS Certification classes. The Lifetime Learning Credit rules say you can use the credit for tuition for these if it improves your job skills (I work as a programmer) - but it's unclear on whether you can use the credit for testing fees. Technically the classes are used to prepare for the exam (This is MCAD classes that i took). Has anyone ever taken tax credits for tuition and fees for these classes? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx! I have been taking the classes at a Computer Institute affiliated with a public university. (It's part of the continuing education department) Sorry, I meant a STATE university  in Missouri. It's Missouri State University so I'm sure it's an eligible institution.
