STDs and TTC??

So my husband and i have been ttc for a while now. I know maybe im just worrying myself but i was just sitting here thinking, ive never been tested for STDs or anything. Dont get me wrong, ive never had any kind of symptoms, but ive heard that you can actually still be infected even with no signs or symptoms. Is this true or do i have anything to worry about. This is probobly TMI too but ive been with 9 people. So should i worry or not about this?

You should get tested just to make sure.
Even though you have been with 9 people, unless they were all virgins, they have been with people to who have been with others, so you can never be too careful.
I think its best to get checked now, because I'm not sure how treatment would work through pregnancy.
Good Luck!

hi kathleen,

if it makes you feel more at peace you can talk to your dr. to see if you can get checked, but if you were safe with the people you slept with you should be ok.
keep in mind also that there are a lot of reasons why people can't get pregnant, sometimes it could also be your hubby's sperm count etc.
you can also ask a dr. online for free and see what they think, try www.FertilityTies.com
good luck!

I think chlamydia is the only with no symptoms.
I'd get checked, just in case. If you're trying to have a baby it's best to know before than after.

You could ask your doctor to do a full test at your next regular pap. Or just call and ask for an appointment.
They usually have you sign a consent form saying its okay to test for STD's.
Nothing wrong with making sure you are healthy.

P.S.
If you do not want to go through your regular doctor. There are clinics you can go to that just check for STD's. They do not have to share results with your regular care doctors.

How long have you and your husband been married? Are you in a monogamous married? You can actually resquest you obgyn do a full screening. I had one done when I decided to begin ttc and they actually gave me all the blood test they do when you first find out your pregnant. Good thing is the blood test are valid for 30 days so you wouldnt have to do it again this month. And it will help to ease your mind. Good luck
