STDs are a Hemo-related (blood) desease, and a spearm desease, so if a guy had lets say for example AIDS, you couldn't get it from saliva, now if you were chewing on his used condom...or blood transplant bag...then you'd kinda be....screwed. Even so, if there were just a little bit of blood in the saliva, there'd be a little-to-no chance that you could get anything, because the antibodies from your white blood cells would recognize it. STD=SEXUALLY transmitted disease. It depends on what STD you think you got from this guy. Herpes? Chlamydia Syphillis? I really wouldn't worry, but why were you chewing on a balloon anyway?! If you are worried about Herpes, it would only be the kind like a cold sore then and those are usually infectious when active, but can still be infectious even when not active. Was this dude also chewing on the balloon or was he rubbing it on his crotch?

Yeah sometimes STD´s can be paseed through saliva..so u never know...what u should do is that in about 2 months u should go get tested for Mono and CMV virus to be absolutely sure..

Edit-For the people that have said that STD´s are only passed through intercourse are completely wrong!! STD´s can also be passed through SALIVA!! Look it up! Google it!

that's just swapping spit - you can't get STD's that way. STD's are called Sexually Transmitted Diseases because they're transmitted by sexual intercourse -- you can only get them from having unprotected sex with someone.

I don't think this would cause an STD. Maybe herpes simplex which is a cold sore or maybe mononucleosis at the worst. If you get a cold sore use something to heal it. By the way if you have no remedy for a cold sore, take some wax out of your ear and rub on it. It works. If you develop flulike symptoms and feel overly fatigued then go see a doc because that could be mono. Good Luck and be careful what you put in your mouth. Baddogg

You will be fine. By the time the balloon got to you the spit was probably dry, you know go to a doctor if you have symptoms you have not experienced before.
