The study you're referring to was done on teenaged American girls. 1 in 4 American teenaged girls have an STD.

There are many STDs and they are all easily spreadible. Unfortunately some young women believe it when their partners say they are clean, and are not aggressive enough about protecting themselves.

We used to think that certain STDs were only trans-
mitted during intercourse and have found out
otherwise.
