Study abroad in United Kingdom (UK) - England? How is life there?

Hi,
I am from America who is looking forward to go study abroad to UK in fall 2008. I so far applied to Bristol, Manchester, and Reading. How is college student life in UK? Do people think American accent is horrible? Do you they make fun of Americans n so? I am so afraid that I won't understand any professor's lectures. How much would you spent per week (including going out + food + coffee + etc)?

Thanks!

Bristol has a thriving arts community, and Manchester, I think, is great. Not so sure about Reading.

It's pretty expensive cos the dollar is so weak right now. But you probably won't have a car payment so that's not so bad. The universities you applied to should have information on their websites about cost of living & stuff.

Lol... they might have a laugh about your accent, but thats all. UK universities are (as with the U.S) very multicultural so there is someone from every background there, your not alone.

It can be quite expesnive to eat out every day for example. For a coffee you're talking around a pound.

I would recommend Manchester... XD
