Studying Abroad in Quepos (Manuel Antonio), Costa Rica for 6 weeks, where do

I stay, eat, etc.? The school is Escuela D'Amore in Quepos, and my brother will be there for 6 weeks. He wants to stay near the school because he will be walking everywhere. Where should he stay, besides a hostel, that offers W/D, kitchen, clean, comfort, all amenities? What stores and restaurants are in the area? Are there any American food chains there? Best local places to eat? Does he need Hep A & B shots or any other vaccinations? How far is Quepos from the beach and Manuel Antonio? Any and all information you have will be greatly appreciated! We're trying to be as prepared as possible! Thank you in advance!
