Well i'm pretty sure i know the answer to this one, but maybe someone will cheer me up (dont just put a nice answer tho, be serious)A little background: we're juniors in highschool, but shes not coming back to school next year b/c shes studying abroad in Italyso theres a girl i like, who i thought liked me too. I went out on a date with earlier in the year and went to prom with her. I then asked her out on a date, but she was going to a concert that night and couldnt do anything. When i asked her out again yesterday, she said she'd love to do it, but doesnt want to lead me on or anything and to do it just hanging out as friends (and with other people too).I really thought she liked me and even long story short (wont explain how i know this here) her parents think she has a crush on me.SO i guess this means that shes not at all interested?If so tho, why wait until now to say that she doesnt want to lead me on? i mean this has been going on (on and off, mostly on) since january.SO now she just texted me and invited me to the movies (with two other people). I dont know how to act around her now.......Just some extra details...dont need to read this, but its probably helpful:also, i was at a small pool party with her a few days ago and i had something i had to give to her from someone else in my car. Her mom came to pick her up, so i told her we should probably go and get the card. I was parked far away so we had to go walk and get it. I had planed on making a move at my car, but her mom followed us out there. After i gave it to her we said bye and she told me to talk to a friend of hers about her going away party.Also: I'll be the first to admit that i'm not the funniest guy out there, but whether or not other people laugh at my jokes, she always does (sometimes it even sounds a bit forced, like she just wants to laugh at everything i say).WHY WAIT UNTIL NOW?Some people have told me that she just doesnt want to get attached before she leaves for Italy...is this true?But its not like shes leaving in a week, she leaves at the beginning of the school yearI just dont get it

There's no guarantee that she isn't interested in you, just that she doesn't want a relationship at this point. I don't think you should feel odd around her, because it's not like she blew you off or anything, she just wanted to not give you an wrong impression, that's all. I doubt she did this on purpose, since it would make no sense for her to do such.I think you should continue to hang with her, and try not to act funny because you two aren't more then friends. She'll likely notice a difference in you if so, and that might make her change towards you as well. Keep everything steady with no more then friendly dates if that makes sense, and it'll evolve into more then what you think.Hope this helps.
