Can I claim the amount I paid daycare on my taxes if the mother claimed her part?

My daughter is in daycare. I pay half of the daycare. The mother gets to claim her this year. Can I claim my part of daycare even though she is claiming her as a dependant?

Nope, sad but true, have to be able to claim the child on the form to take any of the credit. There's always next year.

No. You must be able to claim the exemption as a custodial parent to take this credit.
