| I am being reinbursed for gas by my work for driving to further office... ...each week, can i deduct that in taxes? I heard that I can deduct this in my tax returns. Let me say first that this is an unaccountable reimbursement meaning I don't have to submit any proof to them to get reimbursed because obviously I'm showing up to the office and they can see i clocked in. But I heard that the only time I can write this off in taxes is if I'm driving to work and then I am forced to go somewhere else from that location to another location. Is this true? Then why is my employer reimbursing me for the gas to go to the further office? I was thinking that since I am being reimbursed by my employer to go to the different office each week that this should justify me writing off the expense correct? Btw, they count it as my regular wage so it is taxed as well.. in this case I believe I can write off the entire fed limit per mileage correct? |
