...07-08 tax year or not??? I started a new job 2 weeks ago.
And I have a wages / tax query
The new tax year starts on april 6???
and I get paid on april 7th, for my march wages.
Think wage slip will be dated 7 april, but i'm not certain.
Will wages be classed as in 07-08 tax year? as thats when I worked,
Or will it be added to 08-09 tax year? As thats what the wage slip is likely to be dated.
The wages are for the month of march.

Thing is I haven't used up my 07-08 tax year yet. And In the long run if I use up my 07-08 tax free wage allowance (up to 4000 pounds isnt it??) then I still have full allowance for the next tax year.

What should I do?? How would I find out?
Would you speak to your employer about it?

Is it easy to have a different date put on wageslip?

It just seems unfair as its march wages I think it should be in this tax year. I will lose money because of the date I get paid.

What should I do?? How does it all work??
I don't earn loads so saving some tax makes a difference.
