These big vehicles who think they own the road should I think pay at least £1000.00 a years road tax.

You've got a good point there mate, but do we really need more gas guzzlers on the road?

If they are gas guzzlers the owners will pay more tax by virtue of buying more fuel, which, as we know, is over 70% tax. So, it seems to fail that logic test. If they succeed in their mission to reduce usage, ergo, the tax take will reduce. If the tax take increases, they will have failed in their alleged main objective. Now, which outcome do they prefer?

I get the impression that the expression "gas guzzlers" is used by people who are against certain cars (e.g. 4X4's) without knowing what they are; and they give away their politics by using the words. I have yet to see or hear someone who rails against gas guzzlers actually define what one is.
Many larger looking cars are fuel efficient so what is against them?
I would like to see a quantified definition of a "gas guzzler"
