mysfiction has a spectacular aura about
Teaching methods?

I'm a junior this year, in Honors classes, AP next year... I find myself sitting in class listening to the lectures and tons of questions will pop into my head... Economic, political, what if, real life connections and questions, just tons of them. I wish could talk about these things more, the outside of the box thinking and understanding; debating the depth and lessons in Shakespeare instead of spending all our time translating it, relating the past to why our present is as it is instead of just memorizing dates, learning about real life situations where cosine and tangent and parabolas will come up so we'll know to use the lessons we learned....
I personally want my education to include more of this and less lectures and notes. Give me a print out of the notes and then SHOW me how to use it and I'll remember it better than copying it 5 times, you know?
I'd like to know what you think, can this work or not? And why?
