Comics were small and taught morals, but were extremely frightening. What were they called?

I remember, they were/are disgusting, anti-Catholic, anti-Jewish, anti anything not fundamentalism Christian. No love and tolerance in them, only fear, terrorism and hatred.

Wow, I thought I was the only one that remembered those. I just surfed around and found them, they were comics by "jack chick", a front line fanatic and general looney-toon. I just dug up his website, looks like he's still be at it:

They scared the shit out of me when I was a kid, they're brainwashing literature. I remember one that made Catholics seem like evil, fascist satanists. LOL
And those images of hell and the demons? Jesus Christ!

you mean those Chick tracts? i wonder how many more people were frightened off by them as opposed to those who were 'converted'...i never saw one until i had already found Christ...NOT a big Chick fan; never saw much purpose in scaring people
