self-taught guitar?

how is the best way to self teach guitar? id like to learn, and i think i have the potiental. how is the best way to do this?

I taught myself guitar, first thing id do is buy a beginer level music book, go page by page and spend at least 40 minutes a day practicing if you're serious, 40 minutes a day is better than 3 hours two days a week, also if you have any friends or know anyone that plays guitar i would ask them for help when you're stuck or ask them to help teach you in the first place

practice switching (chord progression)
..
just practice and it should be okay because i see load of self thought dudes playing sweet stuff..
