| Is a teacher’s religious persuasion likely to affect the way they teach certain subjects? The obvious one is biology related subjects; the theory of evolution is interwoven all through modern biology core subjects. If a person’s religious persuasion affects their judgment of evolutionary theory, is their teaching of the subject likely to be affected? At the moment, it’s considered discrimination to ask about a person’s religious beliefs at a job interview for a science teaching position, but can you see this changing in the future? For example, Kent Hovind, before he went to jail for tax fraud, was a high school science teacher…would you want science to be taught to your children by a lying convicted criminal crackpot like Kent?      |
