| I would like to teach music, literature, and foreign language what major do i need? I know Music Education and English Education but what about Foreign Language do I minor in a single language or do I take something else like Linguistics? Also would I be able to have one major i.e. Music Education with two minors English Education and Linguistics or would it be better to get my degree in Music Education and English Education with a minor in a foriegn language or linguistics? also i would like to teach exceptional children (prodigies) would i need to take special education classes as well? |

| Honestly, your adviser would know best. I asked my adviser the other day about having two minors, and she said that you'd be more 'valuable' if you had two majors instead. Also, if you go with two education majors (instead one major, one minor) your education classes would be able to go towards both your majors. Whereas if it was one major and one minor, the education classes wouldn't count for both. (I'm not talking about your englishes and musics, I'm talking about the Secondary Teaching, etc. classes.) I don't know much about the languages. I guess which you'd pick depends on which you'd rather have, a broad knowledge, or more fluency in one language. As for the Special Education classes, you'll probably have to take some of those any way. I doubt you'd have to make an effort to take them. |
