| Do you think different relgions should be taught in schools?
Religion is a touchy subject in school. But isn't religion considered one of the key reasons people do what they do (Jihads dehumanizing politics) so would a quick skim of different religions or at least talk about how the beliefs of a religion has affected the world and individual countries be considered important? (some people still argue global warming doesn't exist yet we still teach what the effects of it and pollution could have on the earth.) A lot of people are saying no because they should be separated. Do you believe that even just teaching the religions impact on countries and the world as a whole is wrong even if nothing at all is said about the religion. |

It is. A lot of history and social studies classes in public schools are covering topics on some religions. There was once a time in America that the school's textbook was the Bible. That was before abortion, gay marriage, and the church of Oprah.

I don't see any problem with offering a comparative religions class in schools; however, it should definitely be an ELECTIVE subject, rather than a required one. Religion IS important in our society, just as literature or art or music is (and has certainly influenced those fields), so I have no problem with teaching ABOUT religions in that sense.
