Being able to dance a certain way, whether it be fun and energetic, classy and sophisticated, or sweet and sexy, is not something you learn step by step. It comes with dance experience, performances, your personal feelings, stage presence, and acting skills.
Now, I'm not saying you can't learn to dance sexy, but, it's going to take more than watching a video. A person can watch a thousand Broadway routines and imitate what they see in their own dance but, unless the feelings they put across are genuine, they won't translate right to the audience--if a person is going for fun, the audience will think they hate being up there because a plastered smile will translate into insincerity, and if a dancer is imitating sexy, the audience won't it's hot stuff.
Here's my advice though for any style you're trying to get across...
* Feel the music.
* Listen to the words of the song.
* Think about something in your life that relates to the song and the choreography that makes you get into the mood of your piece.
* Have fun.
* Keep it classy and real at all times.
A person is a human first, and dancer second, as Mia Michaels always says.
