Why do guys that know trainers want you too come to their gym and they...

...will teach you mma? money? I met a guy at sports chalet that wants me to come down to a gym and he said his freind/trainer will teach me how to box and jiu jitsu? This guys not a fighter more like a promoter or something

It's just the grapevine. I found out about my local MMA class from a Marquee. The only other way would be for me to run into one of the people that work at the gym attached to it.

I think it's ok as long as that person isn't trying to give you fighting advice when they have no experience. What's the harm in them telling you "Hey. If you're looking for a martial arts place, how about you try (Insert place/name here)?"
