How much should I pay someone to teach me the basics of sewing with a machine?

I just bought a basic sewing machine and my neighbor is willing to show me how to use it. I have little, very little, experience with a sewing machine. She is not sure how much to charge me for about 4 hours of instruction and I don't want to cheat her. What do you think would be an okay amount?

Well, I pay 25 for a one hour riding lesson and I was paying 20 for a half hour guitar lesson. Somewhere around that rate seems fair to me.

Why don't you go to a sewing center and see about lessons or they might just show you the basics for free. If you are going to have your neighbor do it, I would think 10$ an hour would be fair.
