Shanta H has a spectacular aura about
How do I teach my daughter to be beautiful vs. .......?

TACKY! I can't understand why my daughter insist on wearing colths that are too small, too big or inapropiate for the occation. For example, my daughter will put on her play colths to go to a special event. As a self proclaimed artist and trend setter myself I said "let my daughter be herself". On the other hand while we are out I can see my daughter comparing herself to other girls. She does not seem pleased with what she sees. I, in return feel her embrassment w/ her. When it's time to go outside and play she will try to put on her nicer colths to ruin. I get upset because of the lack of judgement. Now I pick out my daughters colths for her. She is only eight so this can be considered a stage or maybe even funny. But there is a bigger problem and this just the preluge. I have a series of two more questions that are related. Who ever answers this question please take all into consideration

This is like wading through word-tar: sticky and painful. Your daughter is only eight, and you’re embarrassed that she’s dressing “tacky.”

You’re kidding, right? You’re the one why buys her freakin’ clothes! You’re the one who is embarrassed to be seen with your eight-year-old daughter because she doesn’t like what she sees when she compares herself to other girls.

You SHOULD be embarrassed, but not for any reason related to your daughter.
