I want to teach English overseas, has anyone done this-any advice? I would like to teach English as a foreign language, (TEFL)somewhere in Asia, there are several courses. I don't live in a City (in Australia) so I might have to do the course online - Will this be the same as attending a 3 day class??? Any advice/info from people that have done this would be greatThanks in advance

I want to teach English overseas, has anyone done this-any advice? Schools don't care where you got the TEFL, they only care that you have it.If you want the best pay: S Korea, Japanbest lifestyle: Thailandthe place that people usually say they hated teaching in: Chinadboy

I want to teach English overseas, has anyone done this-any advice? I agree with dboy. His comments echo what I've heard ... but Vietnam is supposedly also not a bad place to teach. For more details, check out link

I want to teach English overseas, has anyone done this-any advice? I've heard China is the best if you're a white American. You have an edge if you're blonde, blue eyed and a woman. They want the stereotypical American. Though th pay isn't much, everything in China is extremely cheap. Like going to a vending machine and getting a coke is like 30 cents as opposed to paying a dollar in the states. Also they provide housing. Unless you move to Shanghai or Beijing, the pay is more than enough I've heard. Japan, I've heard will pay for housing but you may have to share with other teachers. Japan is a lot more crowded in China. You won't be able to get a car so I hope you like walking or riding a bike or taking the bus. Japan and China have a good market. They're both countries interested in English. They're both male dominated societies so if you're a woman, wearing high heels and tight clothing to an interview wouldn't hurt at all.
