teaching my son?

my son has always been a fast learner( he will be three in march) he was crawling at 4 months walking by 8 months and talking clear by a lil over a year, he can say his number to 11 by him self and most of the alphabet. but when it comes to colors i cant seem to get him to learn them, i try all the time everyday constintly asking him what color it is for most things he says its red or he will argue with me when i tell him the right color name. it goes the same with potty training the only way i can get him to go on the potty is if i just leave him naked! its kinda like he just stopped learning fast what does this mean. did i do something wrong with him, what can i do to help him out more. i really would like to put him in school next year but i wont be able to if hes not going on the potty.
