I think the answer to this question is, in a way, related to the whole evolution debate. Science tells us that human beings are animals, but many fundamentalists refuse to accept that. They act as if it somehow reduces us to inferiors if we admit that we're really only just one species out of many on this planet. It seems important to many fundamentalists that human beings maintain a special, higher position as the ones God created and the ones God loves the most. Based on that line of thinking, I'd have to say that those same people probably wouldn't be too open to the possibility of life existing on other planets, either. Again, it gets down to this attitude they have of human beings being particularly special; if the universe is full of life, and there are advanced life forms out there who have advanced civilizations, then what makes US so special? Based on their resistance to the idea that human beings are just one species out of many on this planet, I think they'd be pretty resistant to the idea that human beings are just one developed civilization out of many in the universe, too. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but it's just a thought.

Edit: Give me as many thumbs down as you want, but at least I admitted that I could be completely wrong.

Maybe, it depends on the teacher, but evolutionists can learn that we are only bodies.

Yeah, you get them. This Universe is so huge & somewhere out there life does exist.

I can imagine someday when we find another planet & they're gonna ask us," We are Jews of this planet, do you people have the same God?"
And our race would just be stunned
