how hard is it to teach yourself how to play acoustic guitar?

i was thinking about asking for a guitar for graduation! how hard is it to teach yourself?

Depends on how much you want to do it, how much time you invest and how musically inclined you are.

I found it very hard. I still don't know how to play and I've had my acoustic for about 4 years (though I only tried learning for about 6 months). I'm much better at the piano.

You have to learn all the chords and what not, so if you no nothing about it then it will be hard, just go to a guitar world or somewhere and get a couple lessons.

Not very hard. Just be diligent and keep practicing. You'll want to get good right away but it's definitely going to take some time.
