Should history be taught backward from the present problems to the past formation...?

In High School, should history be taught backward from the present problems to the past formation of these problems?

From 4th until 12th grade histroy has been taught in the same formation; from the ancient to present. Every grade lvl has been repeating the same information, how many time have you reach the American revolution or viet war? And how many high school know about the current events?

History is from ancient to modern because past events caused the future ones, and if you didn't understand what caused events, then how could you understand them at all?

Generally, schools refuse to teach anything of history which has happened during the life times of the parents. Someone will be upset if you discuss Nixon's resignation, or Reagan's Alzhiemer's, or why GWH Bush's claim that he could have crushed Iraq's army was actually a bald faced lie (the Republican Guard was out of Basra before our troops could have closed the gap).

Anything less than 25 years ago, I call "Current Events". I have great respect for history teachers but question if any one should be teaching current affairs. Too much is just opinion and unproven facts.
Putting events in chronological order works for some people, but there are many other good ways. I could see political and military history in one grouping with science and cultural history separated.
Hopefully, they subject matter should get a lot deeper. Where the elementary schools can give overviews and basic facts where the high schools can start teaching why things happened and what is relevant to modern life.
