What little thing do you remember someone other than your mother or father teaching you as a child?

I remember my neighbor's mom teaching me how to properly make a bed and to pronounce my r's so that they don't sound like w's. She was the first woman to really grab my attention, I realise in hindsight that she was a very unique person. It's weird how these old latent memories just pop into your head.
