question on the getting my certiciate of residency!!! teachers that are teaching english in korea?

hello, ill be teachin in korea for 6 months and they told me to get a certificate of residency to have my taxes exempt. I have no idea where to get this or wat form i need to fill out. I live in california, so ya i really need your help. thank u
