If a Middle School/High School teacher is teaching that Liberals Love...

...America, would that be free speech? Is it considered first amendment rights if a teacher in grade school keeps discussing that Liberal Love America, and that Liberals care about poor people, stuff like that.

Or is that not a freedom of speech issue?

I graduated from High School in 2005. I had many teachers over the years that would try to indoctrinate their classes with this Liberal stuff. Being the opinionated person that I am I would challenge the teacher. According to the schools most of the teachers are allowed to say what they like in their classes. I highly disagree with this. Students are very impressionable, I'm not saying everyone should be taught only conservative things or, a indifferent stance but they should be taught it is fine to challenge their teachers and form their own opinions.
As for it being a freedom of speech thing, it should be consider an issue but it isn't.

My daughters would openly challenge the teacher's comments until she shut up. I have given them permission to do so. I have been called into the school over it and told the principal that if their teacher was going to try to indoctrinate my children in and English class, they were going to have the opportunity to give the other side and back it up with facts.

My oldest daughter took a book called "Who Really Cares" and refuted everything that her teacher said when she was talking about the democrats caring about the poor. The teacher will not even talk politics anymore.

It is probably protected by free speech, but so is my daughter's right to refute it.

Children are impressionable, and teachers are seen as mentors. I think it's irresponsible for a grade school teacher to try and instill their political or religious views on their students. There are classes in high school that I think open discussion on these topics should be encouraged. But taking a grade schooler and telling them something, that you imply is a fact, is unethical. I'm sure that type of "teaching" is covered under freedom of speech....but I have the right to take my kid out of that class and / or school.
