Why not teach creationism. What are you afraid of?

No, we always take our science information from washed-up Hollywood stars. ........ No we take it from washed up politicians. AKA Al Gore. Mr Stein is a professor and intelligent man who did his research on this subject.

It's a movie made by dishonest people for stupid people who plan to stay that way......... So Because we do not want to believe the status quo that automatically makes us stupid? What is wrong with questioning and doing research.

It seems that when ever one challenges Darwinism they are attacked one many levels. It is as if we are attacking the very foundations of human what humans "should" believe. It has been proven over and over again that there are holes in this theory. Why not explore other options? As always it appears that the only opinion that matters is that of the secular world. Freedom of speech applies to all or it applies to none. You cannot pick and choose as to what can and cannot be said. If there is scientific evidence supporting creationism then why not present it in the class room? What are you afraid of?

There is absolutely no evidence supporting creationism, it's simply a religious standpoint. Religious propaganda is ought to be kept as far away from school as possible.

Why not throw in the Gospel of The Flying Spaghetti-Monster as well?

Which creation story would you like to teach? There are several different ones out there. You would have to teach them all or you would be forcing a paticular religion on everyone. Religion has no place in a secular class room. If you want a christian based education for your children you should send them to christian private school.

For the same reason that Greek mythology is not presented as a scientific theory. It could be taught along side Zeus and Hades and all the other myths, but not presented in a science class for one blatantly obvious reason: IT IS NOT SCIENCE!!!!

Wiccans believe in magic... should that have equal basis next to physics?

How about alchemy alongside chemistry? It's also a well documnted and researched system that's internally consistent... yet ultimately based on faith..

Surely they're not threath to you... they're just alternative ways. You DO want your children to see the other options and make their own choises, right?

And instead of computers/calculators used to do calculations, how about we introduce abacii too? There are well documented cases where certain chip architetures give false results or errors on calculations... none of that nonsense with abacii. Right? They're a viable alternative.

How about demonology versus psychology? Psychology fails to accurately describe certain functions of human thought processes.. while spirits influencing people's thoughts does give that answer. Kids should also be taught that errant spirits make people do things instead of "mental illness"... I'm sure the scientologists would at least agree with this. It's the thetans, not chemical imbalances.

Also, grammar and spelling... that's a bit of a problem, their rules aren't concictent, and they fail to offer any verifiable predictions about development of languages. There's a bunch of new words that didn't exist before, and no english teacher has ever correctly predicted them. I think we should also teach lolcat, and let the kids make up their mind.

And don't get me started on economics... Communism ring a bell? There really ought to be communism classes to offset the blind obedience to capitalistis ecomonic theory. Children should know there are alternatives

Sounds good to you? I certainly hope so As a european, I'm all for teaching nonsense in american schools... So please, DO teach your kids religion instead of science, we'll welcome the dumbing down of the next generation of americans. We're so going to kick your butts in the international markets.

Give reasonable proof of a creator, then I will have nothing against it being taught...

Come on, don't you have madrassas and Sunday school for that?

Patty just gave the quintessential "anti-intellectual" God of the gaps argument.... Wow...
