What is the best way to teach my 9yr old son to dribble?

My son is really tall, and I want him to play basketball. He is really into playing junior all american football, but I think basketball can be his main sport. I see the potential in him when he plays. I just want to enhance his skills. He is about the size of a typical 13yr old, and don't want him to play center when he starts up his first year of basketball. I played basketball, but was never the best dribbler. Any tips on how I can teach him myself?
