Substitute teaching?

I'm a new teacher and just got hired on by a few districts as a sub. They each have their own manual of what they expect the sub to do for the absent teacher, but I'd like some full time (or retired) teachers' points of view. Do you expect ALL the grading to be done? Do you expect the sub to input this information in your gradebook? What do you expect the sub to get done if you have not left lesson plans? What are your general feelings if some of the planned work doesn't get done? How long and detailed of a report do you like a sub to leave?...I suppose what I' really asking, is how to be the best substitute possible and accommodate teachers across the board.
PS: My long term goal is to get a full time teaching position.

Usually this depends on if you are subbing just for a day or for long term. All I expect my sub to do is give my kids the assignments I leave, help them if they really need it, take the assignments up, put an end to any discipline problems, and make sure my room is still standing when I come back. I'd prefer that my sub doesn't grade my work, unless it is something VERY easy, like a puzzle. I have heard of teachers having to go back and re-grade after their subs tried to help. Not good.
