Does anyone remember a Gross Pretzel story taught in science class?

I'm trying to remember a story my 10th grade science teacher told us about how pretzels are made. It's driving me crazy, but all I can remember is that it made me not want to eat pretzels afterwards.

Of course I've gotten over this and I eat pretzels all the time, but I just want to remember what this story was.

I'm sure other science teachers have shared this info with their students. It's always fun for a science teacher to gross people out, so if anyone knows the story, I'd really appreciate it.
