Has anyone ever taught their dog how to....?

Keep their mouths open without grabbing the treat? I would love to know how to train him to do this so I can just drop it into his mouth and not get slobber all over my hand :]

I don't worry about slobber, but sometimes I just toss the treat in the air and the dogs jumps for it. They're pretty good at catching the treat mid-air.
