Am I allowed to teach my grandson to drive in my car, I am fully comprehensive for

self and spouse.? I am concerned that I may need added insurance to cover this. I am an experienced driver with many years no claims. Thank you in anticipation of your help in this matter.

Yes, you will need to add him as a named driver. Make sure you are sitting down when they tell you the price...

You will need to put him on the Insurance as a named driver as he will have no car insurance of his own. You will need to tell the insurance that he is a learner driver, so there maybe a bit more to pay..........

Sigh....so many wrong answers.

Ok, here's the real deal.
IF you have a preferred or standard insurance company, most will cover anyone you give permission to drive the car. Now, there are some stipulations.
1. Your grandson must be licensed, learners permits are ok.
2. If your grandson lives in your house or plans to drive the car regularly, then he must be added as a named insured on the policy.

If you plan on doing what my grandad did, which was take me out to a big parking lot and let me practice, you should be fine with the current policy.

You need to put your grandson on your insurance.
Contact your insurance company. Depending on his age, it might cost a LOT.
