| Its my new teaching strategy: what do you think of it? I am grad student who works for (MUCH) less money than janitors and less respect than most people with two year associate degrees. The univ also REQUIRES me to teach, which is considered to be part of "research" (that's right, the university has better lawyers) I have dealt with self esteem issues and extreme depression over the fact that I am considered to be lower than the janitors and security guards. But HERE IS MY STRATEGY Now univ classifies me as a student, I am apparently "learning" how to teach. So i am not obligated to teach well, just as someone learning calculus in a course is not obligated to earn an 'A'. my plan: give the students full marks on the HW so that 50 papers can be graded in 15 mins (many students do not attempt all questions, so not all of them get 100% that way) and also they do not come to office hrs bec they think they understand the stuff. Then prepare a hard exam which will help me grade them; but this cant hurt me bec the teaching evals are already in? |
