| Does the Catholic church teach that Mary is the wife of God? I saw someone state this on another question, is that correct? I know they view her as the mother of God, but wife of God was a new one for me. Thanks in advance! |

| The Catholics that have answered are all in agreement that Mary is not the wife of "God", but I saw no mention of how nuns are taught that they become the "Bride of Christ". Here is an excerpt from an article detailing the experience of a Catholic nun named Sister Charlotte (not her real name, but her story is true, no matter if they say it isn't) who states this: I'm taught to believe that I'm married to Jesus Christ. I'm his bride. I'll always remain a virgin. I'll never legally marry again in this world because I have become the spouse or the bride of Jesus Christ. After the bishop married me to Christ he placed the ring on my finger and that meant I'm sealed to Christ. I'm married to him and I accepted it because I didn't know any better. And now here I am taking a vow that I would always remain a virgin because I'm the bride of Christ. I highly recommend you read this entire testimony from this dear lady, as it will bring tears to your eyes and reveal many things that may startle and disturb you, but also give a better understanding of how manipulated some members of the Catholic church are/were. http://www.arcticbeacon.com/articles/29-Jan-2008.html There are many links to actual audio of Sister Charlotte. Here is one. http://www.spirituallysmart.com/audios.html Here are plenty more. http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=audio+of+Sister+Charlotte&btnG=Google+Search&d omains=www.arcticbeacon.com&sitesearch= |
