What are some of the places that people are put through the Japan Exchange

and Teaching Program (JET)? I'm considering applying for the program next year and I'm trying to get a sense of typical places throughout Japan people are placed. I know it probably depends on need, but I would like to learn as much as possible before I apply. I understand people usually go to rural places in the countryside, which is great. I would just like to get some information of how the placement process works and if there are some places people typically go. Any personal experiences about this or the program in general would be great too.
