I read so many questions and replies in Yahoo Answers that boggle my mind as to how little some people know about our involvement in international history or even our domestic history, some crossing one event, person, or group with another or totally not knowing about an event that was front page of the year sometimes. And we expect people to make informed decisions about electing repesentatives into our government when we don't equip them with the knowledge of what policies did what in years before.

Mensa--this is your first day on the group, you haven't seen nothing yet. And its usually the liberals that don't know their social studies, but generally the under 25 and in college crowd
Dan, I feel your pain. When I tell people I'm from Illinois, 9 out of 10 people say something about Chicago. I live almost 800 miles south of that city, and most of the rest of us would like that city to secede from the rest of the state. I'm sure the young ones who read this will have to go look in the dictionary to see what secede means.
