I am a teacher and have always talked to my quiet and shy students, but I teach elementary and they are in my room all day. Maybe since you are quiet and shy, the teacher feels like they don't know you that well, and they are trying to figure you out using other forms of communication and their observations of you(such as your body language, facial expressions, interactions with peer, etc.) Of course, teachers always keep an eye on trouble makers, but if you are not one, then I am guessing they just want to know a little bit more about you since you don't talk much in class. Make sense? Don't be worried, it is probably nothing bad you are doing. The people who say the teacher "wants you" above me are idiots.
