| should schools focus on teaching critical analysis at a younger age?
instead of just imparting knowledge and allowing students to "make up their own minds" about subjects that are more dynamic in nature. i.e.; political and historical subjects. basically, do we prepare students to be able to weigh all the factors before handing them knowledges that could illicit emotional responses instead of logical ones? and if not, don't we set them on a course in life where their first response is to debate subjects that they know very little about? i feel that this leaves them more open to propaganda, predjudices and more. |
